  Fun work out

Statistics show that nearly 90 percent of adults don't exercise regularly. NINETY PERCENT!

Living well means moving well. There is no way you can enjoy a long life of vitality and vigor if you are not exercising.

What are the benefits of exercise? A healthy workout releases brain chemicals including epinephrine that boosts alertness. It also raises serotonin levels, which will boost your mood. Not only that, but exercise will also lower the stress hormones, such as cortisol, so that another benefit is the destressing of the body. The benefit of moving well is the tranquilizing effect that it has on the body as it serves as a much-needed break from the mental strain that accompanies your day.

There are two areas we all need to work on: building the heart and building the muscle.

You must become committed to rebuilding your muscles and then move toward maintaining a proper muscle mass. New research shows that strength training will increase bone density, which will prevent osteoporosis. Lifting well will improve your balance, preventing falls and injuries. It will also help you lower your blood pressure and cholesterol levels and thus reduce the risk of stroke, diabetes, cancer, and arthritis. Another benefit of muscle building is that it can help you with the yo-yo effect of weight gain and weight loss. You will also find this will boost your energy level, improve your mood, and help you sleep better.

What about building the heart? It is essential that you engage in activities that will build a better heart if you truly want to enjoy a longer, healthier life. There are two ways this can be done - You can fill your lifestyle with activities like swimming, biking, bowling, golf and tennis, which off course can make your life a lot more fun and more beneficial than watching TV. Secondly, you also need to engage in aerobic-type exercise like power walking - which is extremely good for you.

Now remember, you will need an exercise plan customized for you and a coach to hold you accountable to this plan. Here we are! Just give us a call and schedule an appointment.
